The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer

Alex and Conner Bailey are twins to a dead man and devastated mother (she's still a good mother, mind you).  Alex has always been the best student she could be. She always raised her hand in class, and never get's anything below an A in school. Conner has always been the student that doesn't try in class. He never does his homework, and sleeps during lectures. On the twins' birthday, their grandmother visits them. She gives them the fairy- tale book they grew up with. It's supposed to be a reminder of her and their Dad when they're missing them. One night the book starts glowing and humming, and Alex doesn't know why. So she investigates. Soon the twins accidentley fall into the book and they realize that they were somehow transported into the fairy- tale world. Now they have to find a way home.

This book was awesome.
The fairy- tales aren't the disney ones your used to. They're the real ones. All of the chracters have lives and it's great to see what their life is like after "Happily Ever After". We've got a pregnant Cinderella, a Queen Red Riding Hood, and a grown up Goldilocks. All of the characters are distinct and funny in their own way (especially Red). This book connects every character together and each of the characters have more to them than meets the eye.

You may have heard of or seen the beautiful Chris Colfer on Glee. He played Kurt Hummel and man can he sing. Chris Colfer is so beautiful in person and on your screen. I have met him for one of his book signings.

This is an amazing start to a beautifully crafted world. With everything you read you can tell how much work Chris put into his books. I defintitley recommend this series to everyone. Yes, they are children's books, but it honestly doesn't seem that way. I hope you pick this one up. I'll talk to you all soon!
