Harry Potter And The Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne

This long-awaited sequel to the well loved Harry Potter series did not disappoint. For those who are not aware, this is written in script format for the play that is being performed.

This book was it's own thing. Given the fact that it is written in script form, one could expect that it is harder to immerse oneself into, but in fact, it was easier than expected to get into. Don't let it turn you off because it's a script! Honestly, it might be easier (and faster) to read than the average Harry Potter book.

PLOT
In terms of plot, I would say it has the same adventure and important themes as all of the books do. However, I feel that this is  more intriguing than the previous ones. I feel that the adventure, is more bold than the others that the gang of three went on. Not to say that the others didn't have their fair share of adventure, because they surely did, but I think that this was an amazing way to reopen the doors to the Harry Potter world.

CHARACTERS
I did like the father-son dynamic that was shown throughout the book, with both Harry and Albus as well as Draco and Scorpius. However, I feel like there wasn't much else of a family dynamic. Maybe it was just to cut down on time for the play, but it wasn't as focused on the other people in the family as it was for the fathers and sons.

Even though this was a great book, it did have some flaws. For example, I think that it was a little predictable. But, it wasn't until the very scene when I understood what was going to happen that it became predictable.

Overall, this was an amazing way to add another book to the series. I cannot believe that this is over (unless there's another one?!??)

Final Rating~
4.5/5 stars
