Real Recommendations 2; The Lifeguard

Hello beauties, today I'm going to be continuing my "Real Recommendations" feature. If you're unaware as to what this feature is about I'll explain. Basically I wanted to do something where I could recommend people books that I love that most people haven't heard of (hence the "real" portion of the name). So, here we go I guess!

Today's recommendation is The Lifeguard by Deborah Blumenthal.

It's an unsettled summer for Sirena. Back in Texas, her family's splitting apart, but here in Rhode Island, at the cottage of her free-spirited aunt, it's a different world. There are long days at the beach and intriguing encounters with him. Pilot. He's the lifeguard with shamanic skills. He both saves her and makes her feel lost at sea. Sirena explores her obsession with Pilot and discovers his mysterious--almost magical--gifts.

I have been craving a reread of this book for a long time now, and I feel like I should just drop everything and go back to Rhode Island and Pilot (who is swoon-worthy might I add).  I've definitely been having some beachy withdrawals because this time last year, I was at the beach with my family and good friends. We stayed in our friends beach house and basically lived in the sea, and now I need some beach vibes, so I think this book will do perfectly haha.

I can't wait to read this again, and I feel like I should reread it annually. I'm constantly thinking about this book, and the sweet, adoring romance. The only thing I need right now is to sit by the beach sipping cold iced tea while reading this book. If that won't do it, then I don't know what will.

And the romance! Oh la la! Pilot is a hunk of mystery and beauty and I need him in my life right now UGH! Seriously, I would totally date him. Sadly, hunks of goodness like him don't come around very often.

Overall, this is a perfect read for this time of year and everybody needs to read this book because it's amazing!

Thank you all so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post and read this book, because it's a good one! See you all in my next post!
