Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

YAS YES YAS YAS YASSSSS! I literally just completed this book a few minutes ago and I CANNOT CONTAIN THE FEELS. I have this squeal in the back of my throat that will, without a doubt, take hold if I don't write this review.

Goodreads synopsis;

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Okay, I just can't even. I seriously can't. Just everything about this book made me glow with happiness from head to toe. With the bantering, steamy romance, and quality relationships between characters, I don't know where to even start. But, I guess I'll start with the characters.

Ummmm... Daemon. All I can think when I see (or rather read about) him, is hot dayum.
This guy is one of the most antagonizing characters I've ever read about. Even if he is gorgeous. Annoying- ness aside, I LOVE HIM. His sarcasm is off the charts, making him more (likable) freaking hot. In terms of other characters, Dee is one of my favorites. She is desperate to make friends because nobody even talks to her, which is pretty sad. I guess they sense that there's something off with her and Daemon. Aliens, ahem.  As for Lesa and Carissa, I don't really have an opinion. They're nice, but we don't really see much of them, which I hope(d) to see in the later books. I'm currently reading book two, and I'm not seeing much of them. Maybe in the later books. Same with the Thompson's because they are pretty important to Daemon and Dee.

And the dialogue is perfect. The constant bantering between Daemon and Katy is the most amusing thing, especially when he makes Katy blush. All. The.Time. And, well, I end up squealing and running around my house with my arms above my head. Okay, I have more control over my emotions, but mentally, that's me:

dancing excited great awesome happy dance

This romance thoughhhhh. Armentrout is seriously messing with my head because I'm having a pretty good case of THE FEELS over here. I was squirming and squeaking like a pig when anything remotely romantic happened. I couldn't really function properly. My jaw probably hit the floor and I my eyes most likely looked like a bug's. I don't want to say anything else because I am not going to spoil anyone, but YES.

Overall, I am in love with this book and it's content. The premise is really cool, everything about this book is stellar, and I have no clue as to why anybody wouldn't read it. Seriously, I'm not even joking, do yourselves a favor and read this book.
